Hey gang,
Well, quicker than I expected, the Highway Hawk tach showed up and it looks pretty nice. Stainless outer shell and a nice black face with white numbers and red-tipped needle. It's about 2.5" diameter, and about 2.5" deep, with a nice chrome bracket for mounting to the bars. The only item a little questionable is the drawing on how to hook it up. It's a bit vague on one of the sections, where it says "see instructions" which are only this little sheet, I found nothing else in the box. I think overall it should be fairly easy to find the electrical components listed using this cryptic drawing and my Savage manuals. The tach box has a company name (Moto-Lux Specialties in Holland) and their European phone number so I might call them and see if they can fax me anything a bit more complete for hookup info. Might see if they have a website, too.
Anyway, I probably won't get to doing this for several days, but the unit itself looks real good and will fit in very well with the Savage styling. I'll probably mount it right between the handlebar posts, should look kool ! (I hope it works...)
